Installer came crashing through the ceiling
Client contacted her local phone company to install a fax line in a spare bedroom. When the installer came to the home, he asked the client to assist him by standing below the attic where the installer was and poke up on the ceiling with a broomstick so he would know on which wall the line was to be dropped. Suddenly, the installer came crashing through the ceiling, striking the client on her shoulder and forcing her to the ground. The client suffered injuries to her neck, shoulder and carpal tunnel syndrome in her wrists. The case was tried before a Jury who returned a verdict of $1,268,000.
